You may want to consider reading the Insurrection series of books by David Weber as well. Amazon.com has some "used" copies relatively cheap that would be worth picking up. If you're familiar with the STARFIRE series wargame, you should find Insurrection very familiar <g>. Unless my mind is playing tricks on me, the Author of STARFIRE 1st edition is the same author who later would go on to write the Honor Harrington series books.
Also - you may want to dig up some F.M. Busby books as well. There is a comical "song" sung by the graduates of the military academy "That is why there is only one latrine in the UET" or something to that effect. It does take into account temporal effects of ships that move at relativistic speeds - which is why some people have two ages instead of the common one. FM Busby's books are not heavy on ship to ship combat details - so you may want to bypass that one if fleet actions are your interest. _______________________________________________ GurpsNet-L mailing list <[email protected]> http://mail.sjgames.com/mailman/listinfo/gurpsnet-l
