A Duty isn't necessarily something you don't want to do. If your Patron expects you to do something, it can be part of your Duty to it even if you'd do it anyway.

There is one argument against it being a Duty, though, and that is that Meiling wasn't punished severely for her failure. Even if she is a child, the Li Clan is described as fairly ruthless when they have to be.
