There is indeed a GURPS for Dummies book and I own it (go me and my Borders 
employee discount :).  It's pretty cool, giving some insight on creating 
characters and running campaigns with GURPS and all that.  It also has a 
killer quick refrence fold-out in the front.  For those of us only getting 
into GURPS in the 4th edition, it's a great helping hand.  Now don't get me 
wrong, I love the 4th ed books, I love em all (game) night long.  These 
books just take the very spare tips from the Basic Set and give them a 
little more life, a little more meaning.  And they toss in a few really cool 
tips.  I'd say check it out.
