Thanks for pointing this out.  Am I correct in that the damage of a 
multiple projectile load inside the minimum spreading range is converted 
to Crushing?  I seem to remember that but am away from my books.  If so 
then it would still be divided by 5 for Blunt Force Trauma.  However if it 
is then my example above should have resulted in 25 points of BFT 
(OUCH!)to Bulletstopper Joe.  If it isn't converted to crushing damage 
then it would be divided by 10 and Bulletstopper Joe would receive 12.5 
points of BFT.  In either case my previous post was in error.

As for shotguns the Gurps Lite 4th ed. shows the example shotgun to have a 
1/2 damage range of 50 yards.  So anything inside of 10 yards would need 
to worry about the non-spreading damage.
