I wouldn't bet on that; I don't know of one per se, but there's a deaf
culture and there are some issues around cochlear implants. Here's an

The difference being that the blind don't have there own separate language
that some 'sighted' people don't understand. Although it shares a written
language, American Sign uses a completely different mechanism for speaking,
which is at the root of 'deaf culture'.
