This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on a website or the like. My site is down for rebuilding, but sooner or later the old stuff should reappear at http://omeyer.gmxhome.de Onno Meyer, 2007-02-19
Delgado Albacore VII Workboat v1.0 (GURPS Traveller TL7) Copyright 2007 by Onno Meyer Most worlds with starports have hydrogen distribution facilities. The Albacore VII harbor and river workboat makes use of this infrastructure with a hydrogen-burning fuel cell. The small boat has an open hull with the helmsman in the stern, two tanks along the sides and a passenger or cargo area in the bow. The single screw is ducted to improve efficiency and to protect it from shoals and driftwood. At top speed, the fuel cell burns 1.5 gallons of hydrogen per hour. A full load of fuel and provisions is $50. Subassemblies: Body +3. Powertrain: 10-kW ducted propeller; 10-kW fuel cell. Fuel: 200 gallons hydrogen (fire 13). Occ: 1 XNCS. Cargo: 90 cf. The vehicle uses the design rules from GURPS Vehicles [2nd edition, 3rd printing, Dec 2004 errata], VXii (the armor volume rule) and the text format from Vehicles Lite. The Traveller background affects the design decisions, not the technology. Next Week: A bigger, faster boat. _______________________________________________ GurpsNet-L mailing list <[email protected]> http://mail.sjgames.com/mailman/listinfo/gurpsnet-l
