She only has Magery 6, but comes with an absurd core
skill level, so all of these spells will be very cheap
or free to cast and maintain, and she won't be likely
to fail a casting until she has about 20+ spells
active.

Grace (+2)
Missile Shield
Steelwraith
Shield
Armor
Blur
Reflexes
I think a Body is called for. Body of Shadow and
Ethereal Body are good choices, but short on style. I
liked Body of Wind and Lightning, but neither of those
offer resistance to energy attacks. Come to think of
it, just where DO I find a spell to protect against
explosives, area-effects, and other energy attacks?

resist cold

Invisibility?
Mage Stealth ?
Magic Resistance 5
Ethereal Body
Hide Thoughts?
This will add an additional -19 to cast in all :)
as defensive spells, consider Earth To Air on 3x can obliterate any metal
item without a saving throw.
