Also, if we go by the rules for solid ammo on p166,
slugs for 20ga smokeless powder shotguns are going to
be 5d pi++ as well. Using the close range rules from
Basic p409, minus the DR multiplication, gives better results.

I think that this is the difference between actual guns using RL stats, and the generic rule for deriving multishot rounds for weapons that don't normally use them.
