I just wanted to relay some of the info on the battlesuit. Although Heinlein says, "It isn't a tank — but a single M. I. private could take on a squadron of those things and knock them off unassisted if anybody was silly enough to put tanks against M. I." I believe he is still referring to TL7 tanks. It was said somewhere in the thread that the suits look like clothing. Here is the relevant passage:
"Suited up, you look like a big steel gorilla, armed with gorilla-sized weapons." And another, "Two thousand pounds of it, maybe, in full kit..." Lastly, "There are three main types of M. I. armor: marauder, command, and scout. Scout suits are very fast and very long-range, but lightly armed. Command suits are heavy on go juice and jump juice, are fast and can jump high; they have three times as much comm & radar gear as other suits, and a dead-reckoning tracker, inertial. Marauders are for those guys in ranks with the sleepy look — the executioners." >From the first quote it leads me to believe they are reflective silver in >color... When I picture a "steel gorilla" I think of a primate made of shiny >metal, but it could just as easily be painted. -Gabe _________________________________________________________________ Windows Live Hotmail now works up to 70% faster. http://windowslive.com/Explore/Hotmail?ocid=TXT_TAGLM_WL_hotmail_acq_faster_112008_______________________________________________ GurpsNet-L mailing list <[email protected]> http://mail.sjgames.com/mailman/listinfo/gurpsnet-l
