The way the old (second edition) Vehicles rules work, you select TL, caliber, technology, one of three power levels, one of seven barrel lengths, and the type of action. People are talking about a more flexible system for the new edition, with barrel length selected as a multiple of the caliber rather than one of seven classes, but the old rules have enough variety to complicate matters. That means a .45 automatic could have two reasonable sets of stats, for barrels under 4.5', and barrels from 4.5' to 9'. Longer barrels are allowed under the rules, but they make little sense for human characters, and different power levels mean we're not talking about .45 ACP any more. There are a few more options for a 30mm autocannon or 30mm gatling. The autocannon could be a M230 or a 2A42, or a single-barreled gun for the ammo of the GAU/8A gatling. _______________________________________________ GurpsNet-L mailing list <[email protected]> http://mail.sjgames.com/mailman/listinfo/gurpsnet-l
