Ground Effect Transport Plane v1.0 (TL10) Copyright 2009 by Onno Meyer The Ground Effect Transport Plane connects settlements on water worlds with the central starport and with each other. Cruising at 350 knots, it can carry 50 tons of cargo and 96 passengers. Each wing mounts four 3.75-MW ducted fans, powered by a fusion reactor in the fuselage. To enhance stability, the cargo hold is placed near the center of gravity, between two passenger cabins with 48 seats each. The cockpit seats two pilots, a navigator, and a cargo master. The Plane is a pure seaplane design, unable to operate on dry land, so major repairs and maintenance require a shipyard with cranes or special cradles. Computerized controls with duplicate maneuver controls. 2,955 cf empty space in the Body and 867 cf in each Wing. Empty weight is 80,000 lbs. The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third printing, January 2007 errata], VXi and VXii (including the armor volume rule) with the text format from Vehicles Lite.
