This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. The files at omeyer.gmxhome.de are down until
I fix the automatic PDF generation, which should be one of these
days - see sourceforge.net/projects/gurpsml

Utility Shuttle, Vehicles Version v1.0 (TL11)

The small craft is used to transfer crews and cargo between starships
in parking orbit, transfer stations, and starports. The Utility Shuttle
has room for a pilot, six passengers, and twelve tons of cargo.
The shuttle has a cylindrical hull and delta wings. The thrusters are
mounted in the wing roots. The cargo hold is 30' long and 8' wide, with
a cargo ramp in the rear. The forward part of the cabin contains six
seats, an airlock, and a powerful tractor beam generator.

Subassemblies: Body +5, two high-agility Wings +2.
Powertrain: Two 60,000-lb. vectored super reactionless thrusters; 10-kW

Design Notes
Body is 2,800 cf, with total compartmentalization, underbelly skids,
very good streamlining, lifting body. Wings are 100 cf each. Structure
is heavy, expensive. Armor is expensive metal. Sealed. Computerized
controls. 158.35 cf of empty space in the body and 23.5 cf in each wing.
Empty weight is 34,600 lbs.
The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third
printing, December '09 errata], VXi and VXii (including the armor volume
rule) with the text format from Vehicles Lite.
