This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on a website or the like. The files at omeyer.gmxhome.de are down until I fix the automatic PDF generation, which should be one of these days - see sourceforge.net/projects/gurpsml Onno Meyer, 2011-08-29
Strike Starfighter Mk.V v1.0 (TL12) Copyright 2011 by Onno Meyer The Strike Starfighter Mark V is optimized for planetary assault. The six-man fighter is armed with eight point defense lasers, 36 hyperspace torpedo tubes, and 80 tons of mixed ground attack ordnance. On strike missions, the fighter makes a hyperspace microjump into low orbit of the target world. Either it releases the weapons and jumps out immediately, or it maneuvers into the stratosphere for pinpoint strikes with smart missiles. The torpedoes are carried for self-defense. The usual crew -- a pilot, a copilot, an astrogator, two gunners, and an engineer -- can be augmented by squadron staff, but the extra seats are notoriously uncomfortable, and equipment stowage is very limited. It takes 0.18 seconds to recharge an x-ray laser shot, or 36 minutes to recharge the power cells for one minimum-energy hyperspace entry. A full load of torpedoes costs $27,952,200, the cost of missiles or bombs varies. Subassemblies: Body +8, eight full-rotation pop Turrets +1.
