I don't believe there's a canonical reference, but the USAF standard
concept was a 20-foot-long, 1-foot-diameter rod made of tungsten - so
that's around 9.4 US tons - with an impact speed around M20 - implying
around 47GJ energy release, around 12 tons of TNT. That ignores
atmospheric ablation, of course.
