VXi14, TL8 Nuclear Pulse Drive.
Weight: 0.04 lbs. per pound of thrust, plus 6,000 lbs.
Fuel: 0.35N, i.e. 0.35 lbs. of fuel per pound of thrust per
hour.
An engine with fuel for 15 hours is 15*0.35 lbs. + 0.04 lbs.
per pound of thrust, plus a flat 6,000 lbs., plus structure,
etc.
As a first estimate, I made it 6 lbs. of fueled craft per
pound of thrust. 0.167 G rounded down to 0.15 G.
Then I consulted VXii32, except that I skipped the gallons
to pound of fuel step -- pulse drives are already in lbs.
That gave me a delta-V. Delta-V divided by two is the top
speed.
Regards,
Onno
