This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. The files at omeyer.gmxhome.de are down until
I fix the automatic PDF generation, which should be one of these
days - see sourceforge.net/projects/gurpsml

Orbital Defense Platform Mk.III v1.0 (TL10)
  Copyright 2012 by Onno Meyer

The Orbital Defense Platform could be used in games where space travel
is common, and space defenses are a normal sight in orbit, or perhaps as
a Sword of Damocles hanging over a post-apocalyptic setting -- who knows
how failing systems will interpret their rules of engagement?
The Platform was constructed around a spinal railgun, to engage ships
in orbit and point targets on the surface, with three missile launchers
and three point defense gatlings as secondary armament. She has room for
maintenance crews, and even a small cockpit, but usually the Platform is
operating under remote or robotic control. Most systems are shut down to
minimize the heat signature, and to reduce the maintenance requirements,
until the Orbital Defense Platform is activated for battle.
A full load of ammunition costs $10,038,960. It takes 58 seconds to
recharge the power of one 140mm shot.
