This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. The files at omeyer.gmxhome.de are down until
I fix the automatic PDF generation, which should be one of these
days - see sourceforge.net/projects/gurpsml

Deep Space Transport Mk.VII v1.0 (TL14)
  Copyright 2012 by Onno Meyer

The Deep Space Transports are small interstellar craft, optimized for
work in the outer system, the asteroid belts, or near the Trojan points
of a gas giant. The Mk.VII is a freighter with two crew and some sixty
tons of cargo.
The ship consists of a crew section forward, an engine section in the
rear, and a connecting spine. The cargo is clamped to the open frame of
the spine, and secured by the force screen. The spherical crew section
contains two cabins and the bridge, which also serves as a common room
and galley. The cylindrical engine section contains the power systems,
the sublight thrusters, the hyperdrive, and a maintenance workshop.
It takes 19 hours to recharge the power cell for one hyperspace entry.

Subassemblies: Body +6, Superstructure +5, Pod +5.
Powertrain: Five 10,000-lb. vectored reactionless thrusters; 1,000-ton
hyperdrive; two 10,000-kW total conversion reactors; 360,000,000-kWs
  rechargeable power cell.
Occ: 2 bridge RCS Superstructure, 2 cabins Superstructure.
Cargo: 5,980 cf.

150-mile AESAs; two 150-lightsecond FTL radars; 750-mile radscanner; two
x1,000 astronomical LLTVs; 50-mile ultrascanner; 30-lightsecond FTL scan
detector; 30-lightsecond FTL emergence detector; precision navigation
instruments; two IFF; two inertial navigation systems; three C9 hardened
minicomputers; two terminals; two neural induction fields; full fire
suppression system; forcelock; two 4-man total life systems. Pod: Two
terminals; full fire suppression system; engineering workshop;
forcelock; FSR 40 shaped force screen (reduced DR 600); 4-man total life
system; grav unit. External: Radiation shielding (Superstructure); radiation
shielding (Pod).

Design Notes
Body is 6,000 cf. Superstructure is 2,000 cf. Pod is 2,000 cf.
Structure is light, standard. Body armor is open-frame, standard metal.
Superstructure and Pod armor are standard composite. Superstructure and
Pod are sealed. Computerized controls with duplicate maneuver controls.
627.6 cf of empty space in the Superstructure and 1,040 cf of empty
space in the Pod. Empty weight is 80,000 lbs.
The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third
printing, July 2010 errata] and VXii (including the armor volume rule)
with the text format from Vehicles Lite.

Next Week: Another cargo carrier.
