CIT EN101 Tracked ATV v1.0 (GURPS Traveller TL9) Copyright 2013 by Onno Meyer In theory, the Conservatory Institute of Technology designed the EN101 All-Terrain Vehicle to explore indigenous solutions to the environmental challenges of the desert planet Yori. In reality, the ATV was funded by wealthy alumni and built by engineering students to win the traditional desert rally around the south pole. The ATV has four independent tracks with micro-actuators to adjust to changing surface conditions. A 10.8-MW gas turbine is mounted on top of the flat hull, and the cab for the driver and the navigator is directly behind the engine, sandwiched between the split exhaust ducts. At a routine travel speed of 150 mph, the turbine burns 648 gallons of jet fuel per hour. A full load of fuel is $6,000. Subassemblies: Body +5, four Tracks +4, Pod +3. Tracks are 1,237.5 cf. Pod is 200 cf. Structure is standard, medium. Improved suspension and smart tracks. Armor is standard composite. Computerized controls with duplicate maneuver controls. 70.3 cf of empty space. Empty weight is 56,000 lbs. The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third printing, July 2010 errata] and VXii (including the armor volume rule) with the text format from Vehicles Lite. The Traveller background affects the design decisions, not the technology.
