General Desert Products S-23 Sandspeeder v1.0 (GURPS Traveller TL9)

  The Sandspeeder was designed as a simpler alternative to a contragrav 
air/raft. It has stubby wings with an enhanced ground effect for flight 
over sand, dry lakebeds, or water. The Sandspeeder carries four humans 
or an equivalent cargo, with a cruise speed of 100 mph and a top speed 
of 220 mph. 
  The turbofans burn 10 gallons of jet fuel per hour at normal speed or 
40 gallons on afterburner. A full load of fuel is $90.

Subassemblies: Body +2, two Skids -1, two Flarecraft Wings +0. 
Powertrain: Two 500-lb. afterburning super turbofans; 6,000-kWs advanced 
  battery.
Fuel: 30 gallons jet fuel (fire on 11).
Occ: 1 XRCS, 1 XRS, 2 folding XCS.   Cargo: 0.25 cf.

Design Notes
  Body is 80 cf. Skids are 4 cf. Flarecraft Wings are 8 cf each. 
Structure is light, standard. Armor is standard metal. 12.1813 cf of 
empty space in the Body and 6.105 cf in each Wing. Empty weight is 1,000 
lbs. 
  The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third 
printing, July 2010 errata], VXii and VXii (including the armor volume 
rule) with the text format from Vehicles Lite. The Traveller rules 
affect the background and design choices, but not the technology of this 
vehicle.
