This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. The files at omeyer.gmxhome.de are down until
I fix the automatic PDF generation, which should be one of these
days - see sourceforge.net/projects/gurpsml

Star Liner Mk.VII v1.0 (TL14)
  Copyright 2013 by Onno Meyer

The Star Liner connects the inhabited worlds of the galaxy. Business
travelers and tourists, celebrities and colonists, all can be found on
these fast starships.
The Liner is optimized for short routes of half a dozen parsecs or so.
She has six 160-seat passenger cabins on the main deck, each with a row
of toilets and a galley, and two bars on the upper deck. The usual crew
consists of a pilot, a copilot, an astrogator, and two engineers. There
are jump seats for a relief crew and a bunkroom for long flights, but
the cabin crew (and the passengers) would soon feel the strain.
It takes 8 hours to recharge the hyperdrive power cells on the ground
or in orbit. In flight, it would take 65 hours.

Subassemblies: Body +10, twenty Retractable Wheels +5.
Powertrain: Four 40,000,000-lb. mega reactionless thrusters; 800,000-ton
hyperdrive; four 40,000,000-lb. contragrav generators; two
  5,000,000-kW total conversion reactors; 288,000,000,000-kWs
  rechargeable power cell.
Occ: 10 bridge RCS, 990 RS with improved access, 10 bunks.
Cargo: 30,000 cf.

Design Notes
Body is 1,000,000 cf, with lifting body and very good streamlining.
Wheels are 50,000 cf, retract into Body. Structure is extra-heavy,
standard. Armor is standard composite. Sealed. Computerized controls
with duplicate maneuver controls. 4,936.05 cf of empty space. Empty
weight is 19,200,000 lbs.
The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third
printing, July 2010 errata], Vxi, and VXii (including the armor volume
rule) with the text format from Vehicles Lite.

Next Week: Just a little bit slower, and much more comfort at TL 15.
