Some good ideas, any chance some or all will be possible or likely do able? I
know from past history, politics and short sighted people often make bad
decisions based on cost, or political or lack of vision.

M4 Sherman tank, ok if it was to do what tanks had been seen to be c.1930,
support of infantry, a way and means to protect them or provide some artillery
aupport but not one on one and like..Or why many died quickly when they went up
against "REAL" tanks.

Upgraded and it took time, the Super Sherman and the M10 and like and then the
new M26 and like at the end, but by that time.. well.. An 88mm from a
Tiger/Panther and like, makes them die fast. only saving grace was speed to get
away and beign diesel, they did not normally cook off like a gas powered tank
might go..

Sadly true, light to go up and then down and then be fast not strong to go in
and do the job?

More use of UAV and like assets. For recon and support. Some casualties do they
really need a helo to evac them or ...

Repeater/Retrans can be a UAV.

Over flight, yes best it be General Ox, but UAV is cheaper?

High weapons platform, nice if it was a Helo or Puff, but cost, training and
number of assets means it easier and cheaper to use that UAV or like?

Seen te new Dirigible for the US Army?

Yrs, fast to react to the threat at hand, such as "Sir we have contacts,
outside the solar system, coming in fast, we believe them to be aliens" . helps
if we already have fore knowledge of them coming, or have friendly aliens who
help us with intel or ...

Seems to me a fairly huge subject, and largely premature.
Are we talking about deploying from space?

It seems to me there is not going to be any Orbital Assault (OA) forces for a
while.

The reason is that the transition from orbit to surface has to be done very
quickly because AD will have a lot of time to lock onto the very hot delivery
systems ('drop ships').

Uusually the descent has to be fairly gentle as can be seen from the Space
Shuttle reentry. Of course this exposes the force to VH/H altitude interception.
If its a Rapid Descent Assault (RDA), then all that energy generated by
atmospheric friction would need to be either vented, or absorbed.
The later is preferred since surplus energy is an asset, but there is no
superconductor technology yet, or even as horizon-tech.

Powered armour can be used for the troops to alleviate their vulnerability
from enemy heavy forces, and this would benefit from the surplus energy
mentioned above to power-up the armoured suits during descent. This is
beneficial in two ways: no need for onboard energy storage and less need for
mobility platforms.
Also, power-suited troops can fight in a swarm which makes them a far more
elusive target on the ground.

Also, the powered suits can be deployed at altitude to allow quick troop
dispersal otherwise the LZs are going to be fairly easy to find if the 'drop
ships' actually have to land. Even without need of runway, consider the area
required for a squadron of a dozen Mi-26s, and then I'd say double it!

Any vertical insertion is by definition supposed to light and quick. Don't
need any heavy ground manoeuvre elements. If power suit design can handle
missiles, medium mortars and say HMGs, thatâ?Ts all thatâ?Ts needed to secure
objective/destroy target. Missiles are both direct anti-armour and artillery
support, mortars are indirect. HMGs are longer ranged ball penetrators/sniping
support.

I think IF there are any vehicles coming down, they have to be at most the
lightest of designs like the 'Mule' for stuff like comms and other bulky tech
which is not part of basic combat load for a power suit.
