This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. The files at omeyer.gmxhome.de are down until
I fix the automatic PDF generation, which should be one of these
days - see sourceforge.net/projects/gurpsml

Aerospace Trainer Mk.IX v1.0 (TL16)
  Copyright 2014 by Onno Meyer

The Aerospace Trainer is used for the initial training of shuttle and
starship pilots. The small craft is capable of surface to orbit flights,
orbital maneuvering, and reentry.
The Mark IX is a featureless nanometal teardrop. The canopy over the
two seats flows open for easy access. The shape of the airframe adjusts
itself for high speed maneuvering or level flight. The Trainer can make
24 G in space or Mach 14 in a standard atmosphere.

Subassemblies: Body +2.
Powertrain: Two 24,000-lb. mega reactionless thrusters; two 4,000-lb.
contragrav generators; two 1,255-kW cosmic power plants; 900,000-kWs
  rechargeable power cell.

Design Notes
Body is 100 cf, with radical streamlining and underbelly skids.
Structure is medium, standard, responsive, living metal. Armor is
standard metal. Sealed. Computerized controls with duplicate maneuver
controls. 0.489 cf of empty space. Empty weight is 1,500 lbs.
The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third
printing, July 2010 errata], VXi, and VXii (including the armor volume
rule) with the text format from Vehicles Lite.

Next Week: Traveller for our ongoing campaign.
