Recon Walker v1.0 (TL11)

The Recon Walker is deployed on worlds with very broken terrain and in
urban areas, where the ability to shoot and climb over obstacles is more
important than a low silhouette. Each arm mounts three weapons -- a grav
cannon, an x-ray laser for point defense, and a non-lethal stunner.
The cockpit has seats for the driver and the gunner. Both can operate
all systems of the Recon Walker using neural interfaces and holographic
terminals. The main hatch under the belly has a folding ladder and a
force screen to keep the atmosphere in. The top and rear hatches are
emergency exits.
It takes 5 seconds to recharge one xaser shot. A normal load of 40mm
ammunition is $491,625.

Powertrain: 2,655-kW leg drivetrain; 4,000-kW super MHD fusion reactor;
twenty 450,000-kWs rechargeable power cells.

Design Notes
Body is 320 cf, with 60 degree F slope. Legs are 120 cf each. Arms are
40 cf each. Structure is expensive, extra-heavy. Improved suspension.
Armor is expensive laminate. Sealed. Computerized controls with
duplicate maneuver controls. 1,125 rounds of 40mm APDSHD and 1,125
rounds of 40mm HEDP are stowed in the body. 12 cf of empty space in the
Body. Empty weight is 36,000 lbs.

The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third
printing, July 2010 errata] and VXii (including the armor volume rule)
with the text format from Vehicles Lite.
