WikiDot looks good but I fear that it would not take long to reach the 
limit of the free account.

It is also a little unclear what can be achieved without being a paying 
customer.

Once committed to such a path how hard would it be to unload from this 
system and import into another. Otherwsie someone will have to pay for 
the extra space and functionality.

Do you have any examples of community wikis using this service that are 
not pro or pro+?
