Hi Maccel, On apple web page (http://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#releasenotes/Java/JavaSnowLeopardUpdate3LeopardUpdate8RN/NewandNoteworthy/NewandNoteworthy.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40010380-CH4-SW1) says:
"As of the release of Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 3, the version of Java that is ported by Apple, and that ships with Mac OS X, is deprecated. This means that the Apple-produced runtime will not be maintained at the same level, and may be removed from future versions of Mac OS X. The Java runtime shipping in Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, and Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, will continue to be supported and maintained through the standard support cycles of those products." That's it, Apple will not give support or default installations for Java. We need to wait until Oracle says something, maybe they will give the necessary support. Apple is not closing the possibility of a external installation of Java by Oracle (or maybe others). Anyway gvSIG is not officially supported on MacOSX, but we (gvSIG 3D Team) are trying to release a new build soon with very nice bugfixes based on gvSIG 1.10 + gvSIG 3D + Sextante with GDAL 1.7.2 + ECW + SID. We have been working hard fixing some problems on 3D extension and we hope get out the build soon for MacOSX and other platforms too. Cheers, Rafa. 2010/10/21 gmail <[email protected]>: > Hi all, > > I know it's not for tomorrow.
