Hi Amin,
you can start gvSIG by running the "gvsig-desktop.vbs" file located at
the portable gvSIG folder.
If you want to have a direct access at the desktop you can right click
on the .vbs file and select 'Send to...' which will give you an option
to send a shortcut to the desktop.

Thanks for the great works you guys are doing! I think many are new to
the software and getting started in Windows 10 (64 bit) is very
challenging. For instance, the installation wizard failed in my case,
I got the portable version to my dive as directed; how do I actually
start the program henceforth? Will appreciate any help going forward.

At the bottom of the page you can find an alternative download in case
of problems with the main server.
Let us know if it works.
The portable version has to be unzipped in a path without spaces, and
it doesn't have to be directly in C:\. For example, you can create a
"gvSIG-desktop" folder and move the "gvSIG-desktop-2.3.1....." folder
of the portable version to that folder.
