Dear Mario,
I ran gvsig-desktop.cmd file...it remained opened. So I tried to run the vbs
file again. IT WORKS! Now I have the software.

Hi Edi,
you can try to run gvSIG from the gvsig-desktop.cmd file. With that file a
console will be opened too and you can see if there's any error there. If the
code is running at the console that means that gvSIG is being opened. If the
console is closed there's a problem. Could you confirm us if if works?

Yes, I created a folder in C:\gvSIG-Desktop and then copied inside....

Hi Edi,
when you copied the portable version, did you copy it directly in C:\? I think
that it is the problem. The portable version has to be in a path without spaces
and it doesn't have to be directly in C:\
For example you can create a "gvSIG" folder in C:, and then you copy the
"gvSIG-desktop-2.3.1-2501-final-win-x86_64" folder into that "gvSIG" folder.
You will have this path: C:\gvSIG\gvSIG-desktop-2.3.1-2501-final-win-x86_64,
and inside you will have the gvsig-desktop.vbs file to run gvSIG.
Does it work?

Hi Mario,
Thank you for the instructions but i'm still having problems with
installation. I have an iMac with 2 operating systems: Mac and Win 8.1 Pro (x
64bit). I'm trying to install in Win OS, but nothing happen.... means that no
installation frame appears. I did exactly as by you advised, using portable
version (copied in C) and running from gvsig-desktop.vbs.
Let me know please how to procceed...

Hi Jean-Paul,
in some computers on Windows 10 -64 bits with a specific configuration there
has been a problem at the installation. The current solution is to download
the portable version. You only have to unzip it in a path without spaces, and
you don't have to unzip it in C:\ directly. For example you can create a
"gvSIG-desktop" folder in C:\ and unzip the portable version in that folder.
Then you can run gvSIG directly from the gvsig-desktop.vbs file.
We have made some corrections in gvSIG 2.4 to fix the problem, and it seems
that it has been solved. Some users with that problem have tested it and it
has worked. gvSIG 2.4 version will be available soon.
