It is free. I authorized my stream a couple weeks ago. One thing to
note, it asks for a pin number which I couldn't find anywhere. I called
and was told the number was 7323. You're prompted for this number when
you put the key on the stream.

Subject: New Info for Authorizing the Victor Stream to Play RFB&D Books
According to Jordan at RFB&D's phone number of 1-800 772-3248:
The UAK authorization is no longer $30 for the disk but is now free.
If you already are active with RFB&D, go to
My Account
go to Other, Authorize Player, Victor is listed as Humanware Stream, give
the serial number of your unit, save those files to the PC, copy them onto
the root of the Stream, all Stream PIN numbers are 7323 pound.
This is as much as I know at this point.
