It is free. I authorized my stream a couple weeks ago. One thing to
note, it asks for a pin number which I couldn't find anywhere. I called
and was told the number was 7323. You're prompted for this number when
you put the key on the stream.

the serial number of your unit, save those files to the PC, copy them onto
the root of the Stream, all Stream PIN numbers are 7323 pound.
