Not a problem, We sometimes don't answer messages right away in case
others on the list can get to them first, but rest assured that even if
no GW Micro employee answers a message right away, we read them all.
many thanks.

Thanks, Raul, this is great news!
Sorry, didn't mean to imply conspiracy.

Subject: Re: [GW-Booksense] A Bug In the Way the Book Sense Plays
Continuous Music
Hello and thanks. I completely agree with you 100% and without a
doubt, this should have never been an issue. Now that it's out there
let me say that this is something I noticed since the BookSense first
came out of the womb. Do you realize how annoying it is to be
listening to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon and then get derailed
by a pause between tracks? Especially between "Any Colour You Like"
and "Brain Damage".
I'm hoping this can be fixed and yes, it's on the wish list.
Also remember that if no one responds to a message on here, it's for 1
of 2 reasons, none of which have anything to do with conspiracy.
1. Your message was not seen or was skipped by people deleting a bunch
of messages based on certain subject lines.
2. No one could reproduce your issue, or if they could, it was not
that big of a deal for them. (which is different than not caring).
many thanks.

I got the below message back, but I never got any responses; so either
nobody else saw it, or nobody else cares about this issue. In the latter
case, I don't suppose it will ever be fixed. But in the event that noone
else saw it, I thought I would post an amended version of it just once
more. Then I'll drop the matter.
A minor bug I have just found in the Book Sense is that it pauses
between tracks that are supposed to be continuous. For example, I have a
CD here that I ripped, U.K. which has some songs that are joined
together without a break. You're not supposed to hear a pause when
listening to them. I also have many mix CD's that are continuous
throughout. The beat is continuous, so they are not intended to be heard
with pauses between the tracks. However, the Book Sense puts about a
half-second pause between tracks when there is not supposed to be one.
My Winamp can play continuous CD's properly when I rip them; the really
cheap CD player I bought eight years ago has always done it. I think the
Book Sense should be able to properly play ripped CD's that have blended
music as well.
This is not a cutting edge feature we're talking about here. CD players
have been able to play CD's the way they were intended to be heard for
decades, even the cheapest portables you could buy. I have been using
Winamp for nine years and have been able to play ripped CD's that have
continuous music on them the way they were intended to be heard.
I noticed this same problem of breaks between tracks that aren't
supposed to have one on the Victor Vibe CD player I bought a few years
ago. That also struck me as strange since the player costs a lot more
than a cheap portable CD player. I would have thought that it would at
least be able to play music CD's as well. I am disappointed to find the
same problem with the Book Sense, especially given the cost.
I really like this unit over all. I've been reading a lot of NLS books,
and listening to music that I've ripped and downloaded--although the
fact that the equalizer does not work with anything other than MP3 files
is also disappointing. I hope that continuous track playing is something
that can be addressed at some point; although I suppose that depends at
least in part on how much it matters to how many people.
