Hello all: I spoke with Raul from GW-Micro today. After discussing the issues I had reported in a previous message, he suggested that I reformat my SD card. What we noticed during this conversation was that no "mark" files were being created any longer. This, of course, was why my Booksense was not holding its place in any books or documents. At the time of our conversation, I did not have a card reader, so I attached my Booksense to my PC via a USB cable. I attempted to reformat the SD card after backing up all of its contents. However, my computer informed me that the card could not be formatted because it was write protected. I knew that this was in fact not the case because as late as last Tuesday, I had transferred books from my PC to this card. Nonetheless I checked the card, and I found that the write protect switch was in the correct position. I then borrowed a card reader from a co-worker. Using this card reader, I was able to format the SD card. I then inserted the card into my Booksense. Behold! It created the folders it uses, just as was intended. I then copied several books. I tested them by moving to a specific heading and unloading the book. When I returned to that book, my Booksense was in fact retaininng my previous position. Conclusion? I cannot explain why this happened, but I can report what I believe to be the case. My SD card was never write protected, however, the Booksense somehow acted as though it were write protected. After reformmatting the card, the Booksense is now writing to the card, and keeping my place in books. I want to thank Raul for his suggestion, and I wanted to inform this list that my Booksense is behaving much better, and I wanted to be someone who can bring good news as well as bad. My intentions were never to be critical for the sake of criticism, I was simply frustrated and I couldn't see my way to a soolution. Now, my Booksense is behaving as it should, and I amm relieved. So, bring on that firmware update. Thanks.
