There is, for me, an irony to this discussion. It was the comments and feedback from stream owners that kept me from purchasing a stream and caused me to wait for the BookSense. I have not had the troubles with the BookSense most people are complaining about so perhaps I've been blessed. (Those who know me would consider this to be most unlikely.) Anyway, my sympathies for those having problems, gratitude that my problems are as limited as they have been, and pleased at how many of those problems will soon be fixed. I suspect that the level of satisfaction or dissatisfaction varies with which function of the BookSense one considers most important. Perhaps had the BookSense aspired to be less than it is, the problems encountered would be seriously reduced. On the other hand, far fewer of us would have been interested in a perfect gizmo that does much less.

Hi, Chip. I'm really glad you never had problems with your stream, but for the first six months or so that I owned mine, I had endless problems with it turning itself off for no reason and I would constantly lose my place in my book. Eventually, I figured out that something was wrong with the battery contacts, and the problem got resolved, but then the stream developed a habit of skipping while it was recording. I never was able to figure out what was causing that one, so just worked around it as much as possible. My point is that over all, I had far more trouble with the stream then I've ever had from the booksense. The booksense has only completely locked up on me twice, and taking out the battery and replacing it solved the problem both times. Further more, I'm feeling extremely confident that a number of issues will be resolved when the next Booksense firmware is released. This is a good discussion to be having, but I just want to make sure that people who are on the fense about which product to buy are aware that the stream isn't quite as perfect as its supporters are making it out to be.

Bob,

You may not agree with what's said, and that's your right; but, you
shouldn't try and stop others from answering questions, or discussing the
issues, and that's exactly what you're doing when you denigrate their
postings by referring to the "dead horse" and "lighten up" and so forth.

if you think the stream had just as many problems when it came out, fine,
that's an opinion. I had it right from day one, and I *never* had a lockup,
or any serious problem.

As has been noted on this list several times, the VR Stream has been out for
several years. The Book Sense just came out.

Let's ease up a little and give the Book Sense a chance when the new updates
are released.

The horse was dead quite a while ago.
