Rod, I believe you are right. I don't think the headphone volume was
changed. As Raul said, there were some problems with too loud volume for
the speaker to handle without possible problems.

Hi,

The volume change appears to be limited to the internal speakers, as I
cannot bring the volume all the way to 21 with the earphones without causing
a bit of pain in my ears. If you add a good pair of noise cancelling
earphones you will never have any trouble hearing what is playing!

I gather using the internal speaker, the max volume with the 2.0 FW is
lower.
Has the max volume using earphones been lowered too?

I completely agree with everything said in this message. Haven't confirmed
the volume being lower yet, but I hope this is wrong as the loud volume was
one of the most appealing features of the booksense for me.
I'll take it for a test listen on the tredmill and see what happens, but if
the volume is lower now, I hope it's able to be raised again in a future
update.
As many have said, though, thanks to Gwmicro and all others involved for
designing such a wonderful product, and thanks for getting us this firmware
update right before Christmas!

Hi Raul and GW,

Thanks for the upgrade and mp3 file.

I noticed that the volume levels have been matched a bit more closely
between the NLS daisy books and the TTS voice, however, I also noticed that
the overall maximum volume level is not as high as it was before. This may
still be a problem for users who may have a noisy environment to listen in.

I will offer my two cents worth as to the new folder in the media player. I
am of the opinion, and it is my own opinion only, that it would have been
better to name a new folder "Media" instead of "Movies" as it is a broader
and less constrictive name for what the player actually does, play "Media".
Then we could just create any sub folders we want in the Media folder and
more accurately sort our types of media.

I am extremely pleased that the Playlist now actually work again! However,
it would be nice to have playlists, and only playlists, resume where we left
off when we go back to a particular playlist to start it up again.

I am extremely happy about the fact that I will no longer have to combine
all of the tracks from a CD audio book that has been ripped to a hundred or
more tracks in order to play it on the unit and place a book mark in it!
Thank you, Thank you!

These are just my first impressions of the firmware upgrade. I'm sure that
there will be a lot of comment and questions from other listers.

Again, Thanks to GW and HIMS!

Lovin' my Ruby Red Reader even more!

Rod
