You could use a program called, MP3 Merge to merge those files into one file. I don't have the link for it, but I am sure someone on list does. The software is easy to use.

Rob, That might work as you state and probably does, and if you have the
time to sit and rename over 100 files then that is great, however, when I
want to read a book, I do not want to have to spend all that time to rename
file names. I'm not trying to cause trouble here and what works for you is
fine, it just doesn't happen to work for me especially when I have a device
that I don't have to do that for.
Don't get me wrong, the booksence is a great device and I'm sure it will do
nothing but get better in the future. I just have very little spare time and
I do not want to spend it doing unnecessary things.
I do appreciate your advice however, and happy that it works for you. Have a
great holiday season.

Tony,

When trying to play a book that consists of multiple mp3 files such as the
one you describe, and I have more than 200 of these, you *MUST* make sure
that all of the file numbers have the same number of digits.

That is, if there are over 100 files, you absolutley have to add the leading

zeros from 1 to 99.

Your numbers have to be
001.mp3
002.mp3
003.mp3
and so on, adding only one zero after your reach the number ten, as: 010.

I am positive that, if you do this, and then put all of the files into the
folder for that book on the SD card in the Audio Book folder, your Book
Sense will read it in the proper order and will keep its place and allow the

use of book marks.

I have been reading a couple of books that consist of over 250 files already

today and am very happy that it now works properly.

Rod

I was very excited to hear that the BookScence was now able to play a folder
of multiple mp3 files but after copying a book over to it and turning it on
to listen I find out that it is playing them all out of order. Here's a run
down: The book was called Dead After Dark and they were numbered, Dead After
Dark 1 all the way to Dead After Dark 118. Now the BookScence sorted them
like this: 1 11 12 13 And so on. All the files that started with a 1 were
grouped together and all the files that started with 2 were all grouped
together and so on. You can see where this might be a problem if you like
reading your book in order. The weird thing is when I took the SD card out
and looked at the folder all the files were grouped together correctly. I
even tried removing all the file name except the numbering and still had the
same issue. It seems that the bookscence has it's own way of sorting file
names even though they are correct originally. Unless there is something I
am missing, this new feature is useless if you have more than 10 files in a
folder. Please tell me I am missing something! <smile>
