Jim,
You said that you cycled the power, but did you try a hard reset using the 4 and reset button? If you haven't done so, give it a try.

Subject: [GW-Booksense] My computer does not recognize booksense

Hey Folks,

I connected my booksense to my computer using the long USB cable.

The booksense recognizes that it is now charging its battery from the
USB connection, but neither the USB nor the computer see either of the
mass storage devices. i.e. my computer doesn't show me the drives on
the booksense.

I'm wondering if anyone has seen this before, and if there are
troubleshooting steps I haven't tried before I ship it in for repair.

I've tried powercycling the unit.
I've tried a different SDHC card and no card at all.
I've tried different cables and different computers.

All thoughts warmly welcomed.

Thanks,

Jim
