Is it possible that your taskbar is hidden? That would keep Window-Eyes
from being able to access the system tray. If you send me a screen shot,
I can tell you if that's what is happening.
Do you have an example where INS-1 does not turn off the key describer?
Bang is a common term used in place of exclamation mark because it
consists of only on syllable, instead of 5 that the phrase "exclamation
mark" uses. That results in much quicker speech.

Checked in the Key Describer. And it said the INS-S should still be

Also, INS-1 - for turning key describer on/off - seems to work, if it
wants to. And not always, it wants to.
