Hello Bob,

I'm not sure the presence or absence of scripts represents the entire story
with the sluggishness. When I simply switch synthesizers to DEC-Talk
Access32, my sluggishness goes away. Things are so much faster! Maybe they
would be even faster if I started turning off scripts, but I'm quite happy
not doing so if the speech synthesis problem could be resolved.

Hi,
I think I've found the cause of the sluggishnes of the 7.0 beta 1. If I
turn off scripts, the sluggishness goes away. When I turn scripts back on,
the lag time comes back. After all. calling scripts does take a little
computing power.
