We don't plan on changing this. When we removed control punctuation this was a side affect, but it makes control keys consistant with the way that other modifiers such as alt have always behaved. Sometimes too many options cause more problems then they resolve.

One question I have is when for instance in Eudora when I press control d to delete a message it says the d or other such instances. Is there anyway this feature can be turned off so it's just silent when you press the key? It's no big deal, but it does get to be a bit annoying when I use it a lot.
