Hello James. I'll answer each question in turn.

1. One of the many reasons we switched to using this newer Eloquence is because with it being tied directly to WE, you can control which sound card it comes out of regardless of what Windows uses as its default sound card. In addition, you can use Eloquence if you run Window-Eyes Mobile from a removable USB memory stick.

2. If you are unable to use control-alt-arrow keys due to conflicts, you can either redefine those hot keys, or you can go into the screen, keyboard, and mouse menus of the Window-Eyes control panel and change the settings individually.

3. We have created a script called Weather Or Not to show that something can be done with scripting to allow a user to not have to use another program. There are good ones however which are dedicated to weather and don't require Window-Eyes, such as WetSoc from www.robomagic.com. However if you want to see how neat scripting is for a non-Window-Eyes function, then download Weather Or Not and be amazed.

Hello all!

I fully realize many are probably all excited about the scripting and such which is great but I really like the new eloquence! It really goes fast and that is much better than the dectalk speech engine but I didn't mind it either! I knew I had the new eloquence speech since I could plug in my USB headset and the voice came through it right away as did the dectalk speech! This shows how GW Micro listens to its users and we again have an eloquence speech engine which works so well with Window Eyes! I still have more to check out and so far so good! I'm not going back to 6.1! I'm in this till I get my 7.0 disk!

Great work GW Micro!

Did I read that there is another fast command for speeding up and slowing speech other than the alt control up or down arrows? I couldn't find a way to turn off the screen video on those keys with my particular PC despite the articles so I'm hoping there is a different way to deal with the speeding up and slowing of voices! How does one get instant weather? I don't recall seeing that in the readme but could have missed it!

Thanks so much!

Jim Aldrich
