Hi, We use Trend Micro at work because we have no choice. It is a program I would never use on a personal machine. It still finds viruses and tells you about it and does nothing. You have to go out and find your own clean up solution. Sometimes it deletes the files which if they are system files it can cause interesting problems.
I have switched from AVG free to Avast on this machine because of the problems with the AVG 8.0 interface. It seems to be working well. I've also read various reviews on the Internet, all of which suggest that Trend Micro has some "gaping holes" which can be exploited and still needs some work, I'm not trying to panic anyone of course, I'm just stating what I've read. This is what happened with my desk top. the Beta worked fine until I erased ETi Eloquence than my problems began. Looks like I will probably have to do a compleete disk recovery to get things back. Guess I will go back to the sbcglobal virus protection when I do. Will be watching to see if others encounter more problems with trend micro. The computer is an hp pavillion running Vista basic. Now just before I loaded the beta I also loaded office professional 2007 it seemed to be working fine under 6.1 could that somehow contribute maybe vista basic isn't right for office maybe I need home or something. We loaded the beta onto our laptop and it too has trend micro and funny, so far no problem. Michael Peterson If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
