I'm not able to duplicate this problem, but it sounds like the same list
box issue that has existed for some time, and has nothing to do
specifically with the beta or FF3 (you can duplicate it in the
synthesizer list, for example, but not every time).

I bring up the links list with insert tab and pressing W (I'm searching
for links to Windows, I simply hear "support wikipedia", though the

entirely consistent behaviour. I know for certain where I am by
cursoring up then down again.
Is there a setting ossibly I should adjust to make reading of the links
list reliable?
