Hello Lisa, Jamie and all,

This issue seems to be something that is not at all unique to Window-Eyes. I am
wondering if the following logic couldn't, somehow, be employed each time
Window-Eyes starts?

1. Check to see if weserve and wineyes are already running.
2. If they are, close them, along with any other related Window-Eyes processes.
3. Start Window-Eyes normally.

I understand this seems rather drastic to perform each time WE starts, so,
perhaps, it could be made available as some kind of emergency recovery facility.

I've had this happen as well. When I've been able to get Narrator to work
and open Windows Task Manager, I've found that the wineyes and weserv processes
were still running, though the others had been closed. After stopping these
processes, I was able to reload Window Eyes normally. I run into this problem
especially when I have problems with a web page. For example, after installing
Winamp I tried to open Internet Explorer. Winamp apparently popped up a window
which asked if I wanted to make it my default search, but Window Eyes crashed.
I know that's what happened because this dialog came up also when I opened
Firefox but Window Eyes handled it fine. I'm not sure if any of this info is
helpful, but I thought it might be useful for debugging purposes.
    Lisa
