Josh,
When Window-Eyes launches it first looks in the Window-Eyes program dir
for a users\default dir. If it finds that with valid data then it locks
in on this as your profile dir and doesn't look anywhere else. If the
users\default dir doesn't exist then it goes off to %appdata%\gw
micro\window-eyes\users\default. If that doesn't exist then it goes to
%allusersprofile%\gw micro\window-eyes\users\default and copies it to
%appdata%\gw micro\window-eyes\users\default and uses that new dir.
So in your case your Window-Eyes dir is most likely:
c:\program files\gw micro\window-eyes
and your user's profile dir (with all your sets and scripts) is most likely:
%appdata%\gw micro\window-eyes\users\default
So now lets say you want to copy WE to your USB drive along with all
your current sets and scripts which is on d: and you want to put it in a
dir called wineyes.
1) You would copy c:\program files\gw micro\window-eyes to d:\wineyes
2) Copy %appdata%\gw micro\window-eyes\users to d:\wineyes\users
You'll be all set!
By the way, note when I use %appdata% and %allusersprofile% that I have
them surrounded by a percent sign. That's because these are two
environmental variables that the operating sets to the specified
directory. By using the percent signs it causes the OS to expand then
to their real values.
Regards,
Doug

Hi,
when I copy the window-eyes folder onto a USB drive, my personal
settings all have to be reconfigured when I run window-eyes from the
USB drive? or not?
because you can't have the application_data folder on the drive, can you?
