Hi all. I find the Eudora address book almost unaccessible when there are a lot of mailboxes open in the program. It is one thing which, in this program, does not affect jaws. I wonder what there is in the program which is different? This has been a problem for many window-eyes versions, getting to address book or filters, or when changing to an edit box for any place in the program, that Window-Eyes freezes for about ten seconds, or goes silent and I need to alt-tab away. If I focus on a control like a button in a dialogue which also contains edit boxes, if there are several buttons in a row, Window-Eyes goes quickly between them, but when I get to an edit control, it is as though Window-Eyes has to think about it for ten seconds before speaking. Like while writing this message, if I go from the to, field, to the subject, field, the cc, field, the bcc, field, access is normal, but when I get to the message body, then the huge delay before Window-Eyes speaks. In the address book, in my case, the "view by Eudora nicknames is spoken, immediately followed by the first entry, but try this; press f6, and then arrow through the controls and see what happens. See if, for example, similar controls don't work fine, kind of, but when you get to a dissimilar control, (like the swap) button, Window-Eyes doesn't take an inordinate amount of time to speak it. Similarly, in editing or handling filters, Window-eyes behaves in a strange manner. Hit alt-t, and your first choice is filters. Press enter, and the first filter in your list is displayed, and usually spoken by Window-Eyes. Now, press f6, and tab through the options and see which ones have more than usual delays. If you only have one mailbox open when you press control-tab, then this discussion is practically moot, however, even there, you might find a little more than average delay while arrowing around in that filter dialog box when controls are accessed. As I say, this is not new for Window-Eyes, and not new certainly for the beta, but something aspect of the program makes Window-Eyes act strangely in Eudora when Eudora is busy. Sorry guys, but jaws does not, and Window0-Eyes should handle this similarly. Is it memory allocating for focusing or what, speculating I know, but this had been a puzzle of mine particularly since I run Eudora this way, and it would be nice to depend on Window-Eyes, my screen reader of choice with this email program, utterly.

That's not what's happening here. When I press control l in Eudora, it speaks out the first entry in my addressbook.

Hi all.

I haven't seen this reported: I cannot access the address book - or at least- when I hit ctrl-l in
Eudora v7.19, Window-Eyes fall silent.

For me: this is not a Eudora fault, as I could always access the address book with V6.1 and previous Window-Eyes versions.

I haven't experimented as to whether I have to modify the Eudora set file.
