Jim,

Of course we can't just drop SAPI support in general and the process of enumerating through the SAPI engines and ignoring the Eloquence and ViaVoice engines is too late. Meaning by the time we see we should ignore it we've already passed the point of no return and the stability issues have occurred. So unfortunately, it isn't as easy as you described <smile>.

Regards,
Doug

Hi,
Wouldn't it be a good idea to simply remove sapi support for ibm via voice
and eloquence? If you may remember a long while back this was done for some
versions of l&h true voice that shipped with zoom text, because it caused
crashes. Now we have direct support for eloquence like we do with via voice
I see no reason why they should be supported threw sapi. This will rinder
the whole issue of having older sapi versions of eloquence unimportant.
