Just after writing my note I spotted that the new company standard PC
image has MS power Toys installed on it. I recall that these do not
co-exist well with Window-Eyes.

Once I uninstalled them all seems now to be better.

Sorry to trouble the list.

Subject: Loss of Speech on Task List

Dear list,

I have just had my PC at work replaced with a newer one.

It is an HP 7700 PC with 1GB RAM running Windows XP SP2.

I have installed WE 6.1 on it as I want to get the PC all configured as
I like it on a production level screen reader.

The issue I have is that when using <alt><tab> to get to different,
running, applications then there is no speech.

A sighted colleague has looked at my screen for me and tells me that the
list of apps does come up, but it is a very pretty screen, with pictures
for the application being run etc. As this is somewhat non-standard I
guess this is why it is not spoken.

I have looked all over the place to see how to switch this screen effect
off, but with no luck.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks.

Regards, John.
