Subject: Some things to consider
Hello all!
I probably won't write much more on this for now since we could have a
pending legal action about to take place if it isn't happening already! I
would suggest that a list be created for this specific topic or an
independent list of some sort could be used for us to discuss all of this
so
that this particular list can go back to Window Eyes concerns etc. I'm
certain the folks at GW Micro appreciate how we feel about all of this! I
think though a few things need to be put into perspective!
Freedom Scientific definitely challenged another company that being
Serotek!
This was settled and I think Serotek came out better in the long haul!
Now
the same tactics are being used against GW Micro over this place marker
business or whatever they decide to bring up! I really don't feel our
involvement hurt anything and may have contributed to the direction of the
settlement in the first case! Right now, nobody at GW Micro can comment
on
anything without consulting with lawyers! This is indeed unfortunate!
There is something else which hasn't been considered and should be brought
forth in my judgment! Freedom Scientific is no longer a U.S owned
company!
I believe interests in the middle east country of Cuate or however it is
spelled own the company presently! Who knows what statutes or traditions
they will be working under! I for one have great concern over so many
American Companies falling into foreign hands especially hostile hands in
the case of FS. Sure! We liberated Cuate from Sedum Husane of Iraq and
again my apologies for the spelling of that name not that it matters any
more! The fact of the matter is FS is owned by foreign concerns and I
question whether these concerns are all that friendly towards the U.S
especially in these days! Yes! FS must operate in accordance to American
Law but I think interests outside the U.S have a say in the conduct of
this
company! I wonder whether our governing entities wish to purchase from an
unknown foreign entity or whether they'd prefer dealing from a company
based
in the U.S. or one operated by people with similar customs and culture.
Humanware comes to mind here! Perhaps our business people can check on
this
further but I have heard that FS is owned by foreign interests and is no
longer a U.s Company as we once knew it to be!
Just a thought or two for whatever it is worth!
Jim
