You're right, Thomas: VIPRE does make considerable use of the mouse
keys. I have yet to encounter a current anti-virus and anti-spyware
program that is fully accessible via the Window-Eyes cursor keys.

I tried it a week ago or so.
The popup screen is accessible but to customize and see what is connecting
in or out from the firewall point of view, that is not readable beside using
mouse pointer which I find it, more work than its worth.

Subject: VIPRE Antivirus + Antispyware Accessible with window-Eyes
Greetings to the list.
Sunbelt Software has just released VIPRE Antivirus + Antispyware, and my
preliminary findings show Window-Eyes gets along quite well with it.
What is remarkable about this accessibility is that Sunbelt has built
the software from the ground up, leading one to expect that it might
pose accessibility problems. Using the mouse and tab keys, I can
navigate quite well. When it throws up an alert, Window-Eyes does not
speak the window with its contents, but if an application suddenly stops
working, the user can focus it with "Alt-Tab," the alert can be read and
the necessary "allow/block" function can be performed.
I am not endorsing VIPRE. I am merely letting the Window-Eyes community
know that a first-generation program seems quite accessible with it. I
don't think this situation occurs too often.
