the only thing I would addd to all this is if you are using   window-eyes
7.0  beta 1.  Get the 

Focus Control 1.7 by Jamal Mazrui 

Script.  It will prevent all the mouse work that has to be done in the main
window.

I quite agree.  Filezilla server is the way to go.  Bulletproof is also
quite good but it costs.  The filezilla server options are configred the wa
I like them out of the box, so very little overhead is needed to get it up
and running.
