Hi, Larry.

If you have the ETI Eloquence voices that came with 6.1 installed, you must
uninstall them. Apparently, there is some kind of conflict between the two
Eloquences.

Switch to the DEC Talk synth, remove all ETI Eloquence engines from add/
remove programs, then you probably have to restart the computer. After all
is said and done, you will find the GW-supplied Eloquence engines list
entries.

Subject: Unable to Find installed Engins in New Eloquence

Hi there. When I installed beta 2, it was my intention to try the new
eloquence.
but when I chose it as my synthesizer, Window-Eyes went silent.

After turning on System Access to guide me through the problem, I tabbed to
speach engines, where it was reported that none were instaled with the new
Eloquence.

Finally, with the Beta running, I chose the New Elloquence once again, where

upon Window-Eyes once more silenced. This time, when tabbing to speech
engines, I asked my wife to have a look. She confirms that the visual
indication is that no engines are installed.

Now then, all I did was to install the beta, following the prompts with no
changes. Can anyone hazzard a guess as to why I find myself engineless and
if possible, suggest what I can do to fix the problem and get the new
Eloquence running?

Meanwhile, I've gone back to Eloquence classic, which is alive and well with

engines ready willing and able to speak.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Larry
