OK, I'm not Bruce, but being outside the US and not intimatetley familiar with American law and culture, maybe anything I say would be not helpful in discussing the suit, which I think is very sad for us all, W-E users and others.

There are issues on my mind too about W-E and UK users in particular who don't presently get anything like the support and training the product deserves and needs, unlike in the US if the training days so frequently announced here, are anything to go by.

I don't think much is to be gained by another outbreak of law suit discussion here. There are plenty of on-going issues with beta 2 which demonstrates that GW in its commitment isn't planning to go anywhere soon, as in out of business.

I think a whole lot of issues surrounding browse mode need to be addressed as W-E presently seems to be losing browse mode to often.

By the by, I've been thinking on starting a blog as I tend to have views on a good many things, Window-Eyes the access tech business and blindness and IT being just one area. Views on this sort of thing are probably best expressed via a blog - and to judge by the ferocious flaming that sometimes happens on Access-UK it might be a better sphere for such expression.

Some on the UK mailing lists remind you of out of control football fans and their excesses. A more unsavory comparision with street gangs and demanding of "respect" for their favourite football team, logo, or style of dress, is more apt parallel.

To those types Dan's mere mention of the words, "fair play" would be rubbished as naive or just "wet". Such are the rules I suspect this game is being played by. That's not to say that there aren't decent guys on the other side; their certainly are.
Nough said for now.

Cheers,
Ray.

What are your views on the FS v. GW case? <g>

I don't know this, but I suspect that Freedom Scientific did their due dilligence before using the name JAWS and the logo. Whatever you may or may not think of the lawsuit, and the more I see, the more I agree with Freedom Scientific, they're not so stupid as to make a gaffe like that, and even if they had, it would have been caught fifteen years ago or whenever HJ came out with JAWS for DOS. Nice try, and I'm sure it seems very clever, but no, FS knew what they were doing.
